Getting around in the city of brotherly love!

I have been a huge fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and this past season I was finally able to go see a home game for the first time. My wife and I packed up our things and headed over to Philly for one of the best trips I have ever taken in my entire life. I have got to tell you though, if you are planning a trip to the big city of Philadelphia, don’t rely on public transportation, get a rental car instead.

The first day that we were in the city we just used public transportation and cab rides, but that night after we did the math it was actually a lot cheaper to just go ahead and rent a car for ourselves. If you are planning on taking more than one cab ride per day, it’s actually about the same price to rent a car for a day and see as much stuff as you like and believe me, Philadelphia has so much to offer you’re never going to see 1/100th of it if you don’t have your own mode of transportation. Compared to New York City, find parking was a lot easier than I might have imagined as well!

The car rental agency that we used while in Philadelphia was Budget Rent a Car which was right in downtown Philly right off of Market Street across the river. I would highly recommend these guys to anyone who needs some wheels in Philly, they really treated us very nicely and we were in and out of the place in about 10 minutes with a really nice little 2009 Toyota.

Trust me, it will really make your trip so much better if you are just visiting the city and want to hit up all the amazing things that the city of Philadelphia has to offer!
